This is a picture of the placemat at Ara Cafe, a great little spot off of Istiklal. Their placemats are copies of Ara Guler's photos (famous Turkish photographer). The food was really good too, we had a pesto tagliarelle pasta with ricotta cheese and a stuffed peppers served warm with rice, dill, tomato sauce and pine nuts and we think probably some other yummy Turkish spices. We sat outside in their little outdoor nook space, surrounded by an old stone building, potted plants and a cat who was very interested in our lunch.
